Being kind to the unthankful

But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Luke 6:35

This Thanksgiving season (and the rest of the year) let’s live the way Jesus lived. What way is that you asked? A verse in Luke explains I will break it apart:

Love your enemies – our enemies can be anyone we don’t get along with it could be a neighbor, a friend that we no longer speak to or a relative we have had “words” with

Do good – from the Greek word agathopoieĊ meaning to be a well-doer

Lend, hoping for nothing again – if someone borrows from you, give it not expecting them to return it, give it as a gift

and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest - When you do what Jesus says, your reward will be great, not on this earth but in heaven

for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evilcan we do any less than follow Jesus’ example. He is kind to the unthankful and to the evil.

Powerful stuff!

Have a blessed day,
Donna
