Twisting the word

Have you ever told or heard a story, that was “just a little” fabricated? Everyday people exaggerate or embellish a story. Sometimes to make themselves look good, sometimes to deceive others. Whatever the case, the story was “twisted” to accomplish a goal.

Genesis 3:1 shows the beginning of the “twisted word”, The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the LORD God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” (NLT)

Every day in our world someone is “twisting” God’s word, it may be in the form of a book, a movie or even a song. The Word of God is not presented correctly and after a while people start to believe the “twisted word”.

Don’t twist God’s word to say what you want it to say, the outcome will be disastrous. Don’t take what others say about the word at “face value” but take the Word and read and study it for yourself.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Colossians 2:8

Have a blessed day,
Donna
