Keep your eyes on God

Psalm 25:15
Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

Today was not an easy day for me. I will spare you the details, but it was disappointing. While I was feeling sorry for myself, I looked at the last few days of my blog and thought, God is good. He knew what was going to happen. Scroll down and look at what I wrote, to encourage yourself in God, to look forward and not behind, to remember God’s great works.

I need to take my eyes off the situation and put them back on the Lord. God does not make mistakes, He makes opportunities for us to grow closer to Him.

Opportunities

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:10

Look for opportunities to do good: be kind, be helpful, be there for others.

God spoke to me through this verse in September 2001, as our country experienced a great tragedy, the destruction of the twin towers. During that time people everywhere were helping in whatever way they could. People helped by giving money, giving food, donating blood, giving clothing, wherever the help was needed.

As Christians we should always be like this, in tragedy and in good times.

This week look for opportunities to help others. You’ll be surprised what the end result will be.
