The works of God

5 As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. 6 In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. Ecclesiastes 11:5-6

No man knows the way of God, God the Creator of the Universe, The One who made everything. Solomon asks “do you know how the bones of a baby grow in the womb?’ All would answer no because no one knows but the Almighty.

Man and scientists have tried and tried to discover the works of God but they remain a mystery. Even with the technology of today we cannot discover how things occur.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

Solomon says do your work and go on with your life, we do not know what tomorrow holds but God knows. Trust Him and He will show you the way.

Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Proverb 27:1 

As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. Psalm 18:30

The Work of God

15 Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun. 16 When I applied mine heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth: (for also there is that neither day nor night seeth sleep with his eyes:) 17 Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it. Ecclesiastes 8:15-17

Solomon is pondering the questions of life, why, why, why? He is trying to figure out why things are the way they are.  The more he ponders the more he realizes God is in control. No matter how wise one is in this life, he will never be able to discover all the “mysteries of life”.

God gives us our life and the days we have to live it. Life is a gift from God, which we should use for Him. Our finite minds cannot comprehend the vastness and glory of God and all He does.

The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law. Deuteronomy 29:29
