Thankful for …

Take a moment and look around, there are so many things to give thanks for. In this modern age here are a few I particularly appreciate:

  • Skype – Skype is a free service that allows you to talk and view people over the internet. A few years ago my daughter bought us a webcam. I get to see my grandsons even though they live 1,200 miles away. Technology is wonderful.

  • Supermarket – I don’t have to go out in the field and pick my fruit and vegetables. I can open the refrigerator and get a glass of milk. When I am busy and running in a million different directions, I can stop and pick up a “ready to go meal.”

  • Library – One of my favorite places. A wealth of knowledge and the cost is free. There are 73 libraries in “my” system. I can put a book on hold, using the computer, and be notified when the book is in. I can borrow books, CDs and DVDs, this is a blessing. Thanks Ben Franklin!

  • Computer – I do not know what I did without it!! Well I do know I had to do everything “by hand” or use a typewriter. Am I showing my age? The computer is a blessing at my job as well, since I am the accountant. I have great respect for accountants who used “paper” ledgers and quickly wore out pencils and erasers.
Enjoy the day and be thankful for everything. Ephesians 5:20
