Today’s Five

Just a few things I’m extremely thankful for:

1. God’s longsuffering – it amazes me daily, that He does not destroy all of us.

2. God’s grace – sending His Son

3. God’s love – “for whosoever” extremely glad whosoever includes me.

4. God’s knowledge- He knows all, I know little, unbelievably little in comparison.

5. God’s mercy –unmerited favor, Praise Him that He sent His son to die for me and did not give me what I deserved.

But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. Psalm 86:15

Today's Five

Thankful for:

1. Prayer – it is the gateway to God. A time of quiet peace between me and God

2. Holy Scriptures – the answers for life

3. Chirping birds – a sure sign that I’m alive and my ears are working. Lord, let me hear your loving kindness this morning.

4. Comfort of God’s Word, I’m thankful for scriptures that “come to mind” when I’m going through difficult situations. Lord, continue to bring your word to my mind. Help me to hide it in my heart Psalm 119:11.

5. God watering His creation, the gentle sound of rain as it waters the earth.

Today’s Five

1. God’s presence – He is always with me.

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. Psalm 139:7-10

2. My body is wonderfully made.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Psalm 139:14

3. His protection

Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. Psalm 139:10

4. He knows what I will say.

For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Psalm 139:4

5. God’s knowledge – He knows all about me. This is a scary thought. I need to be conscience of this all the time. With the Psalmist I say Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23 -24

O Lord, thank you for your Word. Let it indwell me; let it penetrate in my whole being.

Have a blessed day,

Today’s Five

O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Psalm 105:1

1. My four year old granddaughter singing “Doe a deer” to me first thing in the morning, after seeing a deer run alongside her mother's car.

2. Safety from Hurricane Irene.

3. Cool breezes and comfortable humidity.

4. Thankful, oh so thankful for living in the USA. We are truly spoiled. We have fresh fruits and veggies, clean water to drink and food that is at the ready. Praise God for His constant provision for us.

5. Missionaries ready to go and spread the gospel in other lands. We spent time with a missionary from Uruguay, a couple of weeks ago. It always gives me a new awareness of what they do and their complete surrender to obey God.

We watched “End of the spear” last night and I thought of the missionaries in the past and present that are giving their lives to spread the gospel.

May I be receptive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and be willing to share the gospel with “whosoever”.

Have a blessed day,

Thankful for…

1. My granddaughter had craft day at school today. I was happy for the invite. We made gingerbread houses.

2. Running water is a blessing when you think of other countries where the water is contaminated and unsafe to drink.

3. A warm place to live in cold, windy New England, this year our season went from very mild fall to WINTER!

4. God’s convicting Word – I had a situation where I was wrong. I prayed and asked the Lord to teach me and show me the correct way. My Bible reading for the day gave me the answer, reading my devotionals gave me the answer. I attended Bible study, where again God showed me my wrong and what to do about it. Praise Him for His convicting Word. We need to be tenderhearted and willing to be lead by the Spirit.

5. Little children – I love to watch children and the reactions they have to everything, whether it is people, simple toys or a piece of candy.
