What the Lord Requires

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Micah 6:8

Three things God wants us to do:

1. Do justly – be fair in your dealings with others, do right before God and man. Treat others the way you would like to be treated. Live the golden rule.

2. Love mercy – (Heb 2617 kindness toward God) we need to love God with all our heart – we can show this by being kind and loving to those around us.
Luke 10:27 … Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

3. Walk humbly with thy God – walk with God daily. We walk with God by being constantly with Him, in prayer, reading His Word, and mediating on His Word. He needs to be in everything we do – thoughts and actions. If you are walking daily with God others will know.

To do the things that are required of us we might need to change our actions and attitudes. Pray today that God will show you how to do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with Him.
