False Worship

These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. Jude 12-13

Jude continues to describe false teachers and their actions. The teachers “professed” to know Christ, but did things their own way.

This reminds me of our present day, everyone doing their own thing then thinking about Christ. We have it backward, we need to think about Christ then do His thing. Putting Christ first in all we do.

Worship has no meaning for God when offered by people with idolatrous hearts. – Daily Walk

Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
I Timothy 1:16

For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
I Peter 2:21

I have not read it in quite a while, but it you have some free time read In His Steps by Charles Sheldon. It is a fiction but makes one think, “what would Jesus do”.

Have a blessed day,
Donna
