17 All his days also
he eateth in darkness, and he hath much sorrow and wrath with his
sickness. 18 Behold that which I
have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and
to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days
of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion. 19 Every man also to whom God hath given riches
and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion,
and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God. 20 For he shall not much remember the days of
his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart. Ecclesiastes
5:17-20
God gives. He has given us everything we have. Solomon
recognized that all he had was because the Lord had given it to him. Solomon
the man who asked for wisdom above all else realized the wisdom he had was a
gift from God.
If you have food – thank God
If you have a place to lay your head – thank God
If you have a talent – thank God
If you have riches – thank God
If you have anything big or little – thank God
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and
cometh down from the Father of li ghts, with whom is no variableness, neither
shadow of turning. James 1:17
Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man
has many: not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some. ~
Charles Dickens
An old hymn says count your blessings name them one by
one. Take a moment to look around and start counting.
Have a blessed day,
