Action

1 A psalm of thanksgiving. Shout with joy to the LORD, all the earth! 2 Worship the LORD with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. 3 Acknowledge that the LORD is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.  Psalm 100 (NLT)

A Psalm of action, my part is to shout, worship, come, acknowledge, enter His gates, go into His courts, and give thanks.

Why should I do this? The answer is in verse five. God is good, His unfailing love continues forever and His faithfulness continues to each generation. Praise God for His love and faithfulness to you (me)!!

Praise & Thanks

And each morning and evening they stood before the LORD to sing songs of thanks and praise to him. I Chronicles 23:30 (NLT)

What better way to start and end the day but by thanking and praising God for everything.

Today’s 5

·        Protection –I’m thankful for the constant protection the Lord provides, in our home, at night, driving to work, at work, always

·        Health – I am healthy and for this very thankful.

·        Long suffering of God
But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. Psalm 86:15

·        God of the second, third, fourth, fifth and more chances
For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. Psalm 86:5

·        God’s mercy
O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever. Psalm 136:2

What are you thankful for? Take a moment to write your “5” in a journal, notebook, blackboard or where ever!

Giving thanks always

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Ephesians 5:20

Thanks from the Greek word eucharisteō - to be grateful, that is, (actually) to express gratitude (towards); …

Always from the Greek word pantote - every when, that is, at all times:

Are we truly thankful (grateful) always for ALL things?

Have a blessed day,

Midnight thanks

At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments. Psalm 119:62

Do you ever get up in the middle of the night and thank God? Is your heart filled with admiration and gratitude for His “righteous judgments”?

Sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night I will look out the window. The sky is covered, absolutely covered, with beautiful stars and constellations. Depending on the time of the night or the time of the season,  when they are “lower” in the sky I think I can  open the window and just reach out and touch the stars.

On the nights I do wake up and see the gorgeous night sky I thank God. I thank Him for His creation. I thank Him for my sight to see His beautiful creation. I thank Him for His mercy and grace.

The next time you just wake up in the middle of the night, spend a few minutes and thank the Lord for all His great blessings.

Have a blessed day,

Thoughts on thankfulness

God has two dwellings; one in heaven, and the other in a meek and thankful heart.
~ Izaak Walton

Perhaps it takes a purer faith to praise God for unrealized blessings than for those we once enjoyed or those we enjoy now.
~ A.W. Tozer

Nothing is more honorable than a grateful heart.
~ Seneca

None is more impoverished than the one who has no gratitude. Gratitude is a currency that we can mint for ourselves, and spend without fear of bankruptcy.
~ Fred De Witt Van Amburgh

No matter how good or bad you think life is, wake up each day and be thankful for life. Someone somewhere else is fighting to survive.

Thank you Lord

We have so much to be thankful for, have you taken the thankful challenge? See my post for November 2, one of these days I am going to learn how to link to a post.

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: Psalm 92:1

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9

Gems

I came across a few gems in my Bible reading. There are thousands of gems in the word of God some we need to dig for and some are right on the surface, waiting to be picked up. Here are a few precious gems I found in I Chronicles 16.

Give thanks

Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.
1 Chronicles 16:8

Do I thank Him?
Do I call on Him?
Do I tell others about Him?
Do I tell others what He has done?

Remember

Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth; 1 Chronicles 16:12

Saved me
Gave me life
Protects me
Sent His son for me – even thought I did not deserve it
He loves me

Greatness of God

For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1 Chronicles 16:25

God deserves all our praise.

Give God the glory, it is ALL ABOUT HIM!!!

Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. 1 Chronicles 16:29

Do I give God the glory due to Him?
What can I bring as an offering? Myself
I will worship God in the beauty of His holiness
.

Goodness of God

O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. 1 Chronicles 16:34

God is good, no matter what happens in our life.

Thank You for giving to the Lord

And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
2 Corinthians 8:5

Each and everything you do for the Lord makes a difference. We will not know the end result until we go to heaven.

I thank the Lord for bringing into my life a variety of teachers. I learned from some what to do, I learned from others what not to do, but the Lord used all to teach me.

I thank the Lord for a young woman named Susan (we worked together, many moons ago) who invited me to church and shared the gospel. It was a few years before I accepted the Lord but Susan became my friend and shared her Lord.

We don’t know how we touch others but we do know how others have touched us. As you listen to this song if a name comes to your mind, call, write or email them and let them know how they have touched your life. Be thankful for the people in your life, family, friends or acquaintances. Be thankful for the people who took the time to share the gospel with you.

Have a blessed day,
Donna

Giving Thanks

Psalm 105:1-5
O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. 2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. :3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. 4 Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore. 5 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

God is so good we can never stop thanking him for all He has given us. We have so much to be thankful for, make a list today of at least five things. Tell others what He has done for you.

During your quiet time with God sing to Him. It doesn’t need to be fancy or professional but sing from the heart. There are so many songs that proclaim the greatness of God. My granddaughter is always “making up” songs about God. We need to have childlike faith.

Our hearts will rejoice when we are seeking the Lord. Rejoice in this verse means to brighten up, cheer up, be glad. We feel so much better when we are happy. Be happy in the Lord and all He has done for you.

How do we seek God? Spend time each day with Him. We put time aside for our family, job, and hobbies. Each day put time aside for God. Start the day with prayer and mediating on His goodness.

Remember all He has done for you. Look around and rejoice in His beautiful creation. Take a moment to look at the plants and animals that He created. I love to look at the sky on a clear night. You can see the pattern of the stars and how the moon illuminates the darkness. Be thankful for his marvellous works!

Have a great day.
